Born and raised in Stratford Victoria, Farm Insurance Specialist Darcy Dugan grew up working on sheep farms around the Gippsland region.

Darcy has a passion for assisting farmers and agricultural communities. Previously, he supported the development of rural workforces, connecting workers with employers in harvesting areas across Southeastern Victoria.

Being able to help farmers in their time of need was the key driver for Darcy in becoming a Farm Insurance Specialist with Achmea Australia.

“Having been involved with the recovery of the bushfires in East Gippsland in late 2019, I know the devastating impact of a natural disaster and I want to be able to help farmers get back on their feet as soon as possible,” said Darcy.

“I am keen to connect with farmers and learn more about their business and the industry,” Darcy said. “My local region has a large dairy presence, as well as beef cattle and vegetable farms. This, along with getting to know more about agriculture in my local region area, and how our food makes it from paddock to plate, is what drew me to this role.”

When Darcy is not out on-farm, he finds joy in AFL and bringing smiles to his kids’ faces.
